On December 10, 2008, Kelley Blue Book announced that the Ford F-150 would be named the 2009 Best Redesigned Vehicle. Kelley Blue Book is an internationally trusted resource for information about vehicles of all types, years, and models and has been in service since 1918.

The Ford F-150 was named as the 2009 Best Redesigned Vehicle because of its interior and exterior spaced, technology applications, performance, fuel economy, feature upgrades, and more. According to Kelley Blue Book, the Ford F-150 is the first and only repeat winner of this award as well.

The purpose of the 2009 Best Redesigned Vehicle award is to reflect the changing pace of the modern automobile manufacturing industry. Kelley not only looks for models that look better than their previous versions, but that also outdo the competition. Therefore, the Ford F-150 beat out all vehicle models for this award - not just trucks in its class. The F-150 won the redesign award over all other Ford vehicles, as well as all vehicles from other manufacturers.
